Hi Evereyone!!!! It sure has been a while since I blogged.

But how could I not update the blog with Earth Day just around the corner!

Are you ready to do your part? What will you be doing?

I will be at one of the tradeshows in Montreal promoting the use of reusable bags. If anyone is in Montreal at the SIAL show, please feel free to drop by our Bring Your Own Bag booth! www.sialcanada.com

Hope you’ve all had a great Holiday Season and have a healthy, wealthy, successful and bright new year (2010).

I am not sure if you have a new year’s resolution. But looks like DC has one… to try and get plastic bag free!

The new year comes with a bag fee in the capital city of the United States of America.

I was searching for some green gifts for family and friends this season and I thought I’d share some gift ideas with my fellow bloggers and readers.

Happy Holidays to all of you and remember to give your gift in a green bag! :)

Penang, Malaysia has already been doing a great job of reducing plastic bag waste and now it is taking a step further by extending its “no plastic bag day” to all retail stores for Mondays beginning the New Year.

Looks like Penang will be able to prove itself as the “first green state” in Malaysia with its continuous efforts and the love for our planet earth!

The city of Santa Clarita (LA) agrees with me.

Think of the times when some of you are carrying or wearing one of your favorite accessories, consciously/unconsciously, you are bragging about them. It is because they are reflecting your image and they tell something about you.

Same is when I am carrying one of my stylish reusable recyclable totes… I feel great… as they are respresenting me.. I’d like to think I’m a stylish environmentally friendly lady!! :)

Anyway, check out the article that talks about a “Brag About Your Bag” Initiative! Go Santa Clarita Go!!

It’s been a while since I last blogged. However, I was tempted to write about this story.

Despite the fact that many consumers have been using reusable bags in San Francisco, around a million plastic bags have been found in and along the bay.

It makes me wonder about the cities and areas where the consumption of plastic bags is still high …

The day has finally arrived when you will be charged for each plastic bag you purchase anywhere in Toronto, dear customer.

Do not forget to bring your own bags starting today or be ready to pay 5 cents for a plastic bag!

As you may (or may not) know Vancouver British Columbia city council has managed to put a ban on plastic bags. Also, Downey California is contemplating  a ban on plastic bags.

Here are a couple of links that describe their efforts:

It’s an exciting time for the environment and it’s good to see people and cities standing up for the cause.

The press release header read : “Man Sits in World’s Largest Reusable Shopping Bag to Raise Environmental Awareness about Plastic Bags”

So naturally I thought it was a joke. It’s not, and I love every minute of this article. Creativity gets you everywhere in this world…
